Maui School for Strings Announces Karla Bartholomy Memorial Scholarship for 2025-2026

Karla Bartholomy was Roy Binder's very first cello teacher; she had a massive heart. As Roy's family struggled to pay for lessons she allowed them to barter in lieu of payment. It is in her memory that we established the Karla Bartholomy Memorial Scholarship. Roy's goal as a musician and a good human being is to continue her legacy of sharing music with students who may not have the resources to be able to study. This scholarship is awarded to one K-12 cellist on the island of Maui per year. It covers full yearly tuition to Maui School for Strings, a value of $2722.51. Applications are due May 23rd and the scholarship will be announced on May 30th.
