Karla Bartholomy Memorial Scholarship
Karla Bartholomy was Roy Binder's very first cello teacher, she took him under her wing and introduced him to gigging. As Roy's family struggled to pay for lessons she allowed them to barter in lieu of payment. It is in her memory that we established the Karla Bartholomy Memorial Cello Scholarship. Roy's goal as a is to continue her legacy of sharing music with students who may not have the resources to be able to study.
About the Scholarship

Open to all K-12 cellists on the island of Maui

Covers half of lesson costs for an entire year at Maui School for Strings

Only one applicant will be selected per year

Preference goes to students in financial need
